Patrick Browning
Course Leader (London) and member of the Healing Journey Advisory Group
I am a clinical hypnotherapist with a practice in Kensington. Many of the issues which people bring to a hypnotherapist, namely fears, how to deal with stress, emotional issues, motivation about goals, letting go of past feelings, managing thoughts, using imagery, and finding ways to change are all particularly relevant for people with cancer, and are all addressed on the Healing Journey.
I have been seeing people with cancer and cancer carers at the Paul D’Auria Cancer Support Centre since 2005. Using one-to-one hypnotherapy we can help not only with the issues mentioned above but also with more individual issues such as needle phobia, preparation for surgery or pain management.
I have been a facilitator for Levels 1 and 2 of the Healing Journey from its first introduction to the UK.
Before becoming a hypnotherapist, I qualified as a barrister and a chartered accountant, and was an investment banker and finance director. I find hypnotherapy, and working at the Centre, much more satisfying.
My website is at www.browning-hypnosis.co.uk.
“I particularly like the Healing Journey because it brings together in one programme so many of the issues that are relevant for people with cancer. It is also good that it has been developed over a number of years – and, of course, it is still evolving.”
Alastair Cunningham developed the Healing Journey at the Ontario Cancer Institute, Canada’s largest cancer treatment centre.
