Liz Grant
Course Leader (London) and member of the Healing Journey Advisory Group
I started my working life as a social worker in the London Borough of Lambeth. After some years I moved to France and lived there for over 18 years, working closely with the Taize Community in Burgundy. Whilst I was there I began my training as a psychotherapist but decided to continue with my studies in England.
I now work as a psychosynthesis counsellor, psychotherapist and supervisor. I have a busy private practice in Clapham and, until recently, I have been working with the Community Mental Health Team in Basildon, Essex. I also work with personal development groups and teach on a training course for spiritual directors at the London Centre for Spirituality.
At present I am involved with the Healing Journey through one-day sessions which are based on ‘family constellation’ work. This involves exploring the impact of our families (past and present) on our present life through the help and support of other group members. It is a freeing and transformative experience which has a lasting effect on those who take part.
“In my work I am increasingly aware of the connections between all the different aspects of ourselves – body, feelings, thoughts, spirituality etc – and I am attracted to the Healing Journey because I see there a process which allows and enables all these parts and energies to search together for the well being of the whole person.”
Alastair Cunningham developed the Healing Journey at the Ontario Cancer Institute, Canada’s largest cancer treatment centre.
