judybensonBefore I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the end of 2004, I was an organisational consultant working with teams and managers in services for children.  I was the business manager of a successful consultancy group leading a busy and stressful life.

I’m now in the process of changing what I do with my life, using my group work skills to support people with cancer, and generally leading a quieter life than I did before.

For me cancer has been a spiritual and psychological challenge as well as a physical one. I found out about Alastair Cunningham’s work when I was on a retreat at the Penny Brohn centre and was immediately attracted by his research and by the Healing Journey’s focus on Acceptance, Authenticity and Autonomy.

The programme is grounded and structured, gently leading participants to work on themselves in rich and rewarding ways. Having worked through it as a participant, I’m really pleased to facilitate it now for others.

“The Healing Journey has been very important to me in my recovery from cancer and the treatments. It has helped me to be more accepting of my new reality, more authentic about my needs and more autonomous in the choices and decisions I make.”
