Future Plans

futureplansThe feedback we’ve had from course participants as well as the response from other people who’ve come across the Healing Journey has been very encouraging and exciting.

We’re convinced that the Healing Journey Programme has much to offer people looking for effective ways to deal with the stress and anxiety of cancer – and who want to explore different ways of living that can bring fulfillment, happiness and meaning.

Therefore we’re keen to extend the Programme’s availability to many more people. However this is going to happen slowly as the effectiveness of the Programme depends greatly on the quality of the course leaders.

Our plans include:

  • supporting other individuals and groups to put on the Healing Journey elsewhere in the UK
  • putting on training/induction courses for suitably qualified people, who want to become course leaders
  • developing support materials to make it as easy as possible to put on courses themselves
  • exploring whether we can provide the Healing Journey in a distance-learning format (eg. teleseminars and forums) for people who aren’t close to an existing course
  • developing a support and development network for course leaders, so they can help each other and learn from each other
  • developing the Healing Journey for palliative care and also, possibly, for other health conditions
  • exploring how we can make the Healing Journey even more effective.

We have been very grateful for a start-up grant, which has helped us to launch Healing Journey UK. To develop further, we do need more funds.
