Introduction to the courses
The Healing Journey consists of five levels. Those who complete the programme will experience much greater benefits. However each individual can choose not to proceed to the next level if it isn’t right for them at that time.
Levels 1 and 2 focus more on teaching self-help skills. From Level 3 onwards, the focus is on each participant’s own self-development, healing inner conflicts and building connections within the group.
The courses are open to anyone who has or has had cancer and their relatives/carers.
Level 1 – Coping with Cancer Stress. This 4-week course is designed to help people start dealing with the stress of cancer by giving participants tools to reduce anxiety, increase feelings of relaxation and start feeling more in control of their lives. More detailed description here.
Level 2 – Developing Your Self-Care Skills. This 8-week course teaches more coping skills, and helps participants identify what really matters to them and the changes that could make their lives more satisfying. More detailed description here.
From Level 3 onwards, we work more with spiritual themes and have made efforts to do this in a way that is inclusive and accessible to people regardless of their beliefs. Our aim is to help participants develop their own experience of spirituality, involving aspects such as inner peace and wisdom, authenticity, self-acceptance, meaning and connectedness.
Level 3 – Moving Towards Inner Peace: Letting Go of Blocks to Your Healing Journey. This 8-week course enables people to explore their internal barriers to growth and to find ways of releasing them, so allowing them to move forward. More detailed description here.
Level 4 – Singing Your Own Song: Moving Towards Authenticity, Autonomy and Acceptance. This 8-week course, focuses on ‘singing your own song’, which is about helping participants to make beneficial changes in their life and finding more fulfilling modes of self-expression. More detailed description here.
Level 5 – Coming Home: Exploring Wholeness, Connectedness and Meaning. On this 8-week course, participants explore in greater depth both their life journeys and their spiritual journeys. The emphasis is on how people can integrate their spirituality into their lives. More detailed description here.
